Trek To A New Home

Hello. I've had enough of this filthy Castle of Peace. So Solarius and I packed our backpacks and hiked along a trail through some bushes. Sooner or later, we walked into a fork in the path. One arrow led to some houses. The right arrow led to, well, the right. We couldn't see where it led to. And in tiny print in the right arrow: Beware of this path! Most villagers have never came back. Well, we won't be going there. Solarius didn't detect any cold presence, so I guess we're safe for now. Solarius and I walked to the left arrow. The houses were part of a very peaceful village. A casual village. We just strolled in and no one really noticed the new people (us) in their home. Solarius walked in. One of the houses. I tarted to protest,"Solarius... I wouldn't go there if I were you..." But she didn't seem to hear. And plus I was losing her with the amount of people walking around. No choice. I walked in the small house. A girl and probably her teacher were studying a map. There were a whole bunch of books around, yada yada... I'm not much for schools. The girl (apparently named Rosa) noticed us. Apparently we looked practically homeless.

Betrayal

Hello. -shiver- Solarius and I have been cold and starving for 3 days. Not much for a Moon Wolf and a Sun Wolf. But still. We're living in an eerie, evil-filled, empty place. Solarius has suggested moving, but I would prefer not to. Something has me going about Dusk and Nightstar. Dusk is the leader of the Castle of Peace. Dusk is a Shadow. Nightstar's side is the only enemy that can destroy our protective magic spells. Like a teacher to a student, I asked Solarius: "What do all those things mean?" Her laziness and sleepiness overcame her. "Stick, STICK! Elves stole stick... Break cat...Stars... Trees.... Stick and hide and seek..." Poor thing. Too dumb to even say sense. I ate another piece of cold mouse meat and I went back to bed. It was the first time I ever had a dream.
It was about my parents. I was in a dark, cold dungeon. My mother, Katie, (sorry I didn't say so before, Katie is a Sun Wolf like me. "Tom, you can't do that! What about the chicks?" A deep voice came from the shadows. "Do not worry. They will be in my care..." and a cackle filled the air. That was it.
Wow. What a nice dream. I shuddered. I think Solarius was right about moving out. This place gives me nightmares. I checked on Solarius's bed. Finally she was awake. I told her about moving out and she immediately said she'd get the stuff. Hmm. I should ask her about the Elves and Sticks happening. A backpack had suddenly appeared in my pack with a water bottle, junk food, including pretzels, and some cough drops. I asked Solarius,"How'd you do that?" She just shrugged and smiled as if holding a secret. Then I asked her,"What did you mean about the elves and sticks thing?"
Bam. The answer hit my head like a bomb and immediately I knew what she meant.

Who is Evil? Who is Good? Who are just plain.... Smelly?

Ok. Back from our 2 week long festival. It was.... Boring. Nothing to do. Boring masks.
Anyway, we finally came back to the castle. The shadow(who's name was Dusk, as she has given us) showed us around the castle once more. She told us about the secret passageways, and which traps and which secrets they hold. She told us about the artillery, and what they do. She told us about the Room of the Past, which holds all the happenings of Tori since the beginning of time. She told us of the secret meeting place. And finally, she told us of the magic that Toris have long forgotten until now. The whole trip, Solarius fidgeted around nervously. "The presence of evil lies around here's just waiting, waiting anxiously to sneak up on us.", she had told me. Even I, too, had felt a shudder of cold once in a while. But it couldn't be Dusk. Right?
The next morning, there wasa huge surprise. Everything, everything Dusk had showed us was destroyed. The magic walls that once protected us as well as the army were nowhere to be seen. Solarius was still sleeping. That sleepyhead. I mean, Moon wolves are nocturnal. They stay up at night. But if they ever wake up in the mornings they would slouch around and act like a living dummy. But the weird thing came only last. No one was around but us. I went back to my bedroom where Solarius was. Huh. I thought Solarius was sleeping in her bed. Then I remembered something. When Dusk had taught us about the history and magic of Tori in the Room of the Past, she mentioned something about Moon wolves teleporting randomly, getting the hang of it as they get older until they reach full maturity. Well, at least I know Solarius isnt mature enough. That made me laugh softly. But the eerie silence except for fire crackling and Solarius snoring had a presence of evil. Nothing, nothing except Nightstar's army would break that wall. Especially not without throwing a whole bunch of cheeseburgers and pickles and then kicking it a trillion times. But still, we would have felt, heard. And saw it,. Who was the enemy?

Not one... Not two... Not three... But a thousand

The Staff of Creation had floated into my hand. The Shadow (who's name I still haven't gotten, weirdly) explained,"Ah, you are special. The Staff of Creation chooses one person once another dies." [See, Solarius. I'm special. Haha, sucker! Ow, stop punching me! OW!] Apparently I used up the Staff of Creation, so I couldn't summon a giant fire breathing lion to beat up my cousin for revenge. "Come, let me show you through the palace." Like an illusion, the broken bricks of the castle suddenly turned new and shiny. The walls were polished, and vines no longer hung about. Um, Solrius is pushing me away from my room, so bye!

A New Friend.... And Also My Servant

"Hello my darlings," the shadow had said.
Solarius and I[Yes, I put your name first, Solarius. Now shut up.] were scared stiff. The Shadow said,"You need not fear. Your mother has made me work for you.... Curse her. With magic, too! No one has ever learned it in centuries."
Solarius and I were still scared stiff. What does she mean "we need not worry"? Well, Solarius is enough to control her cuz she's a Moon wolf. Typical. "M-m-magic?" Solarius muttered. "Yes, magic. Tori magic. I'll show you an example. Ke sa akba tu!" A raven suddenly appeared next to the shadow. She chuckled. "Birds are my specialty. Come now, I know the way to your home." I saw a glint in her eyes(do shadows have eyes?) as if she was waiting until the magic-thingy wore off and she could kill us. I didnt look forward to that. We walked the forest for an hour. Shadows still chased us, but recoiled at the smell of a Sun wolf and a Shadow that was their ally. They thought we were friends and glided off.
Finally, an hour passed and we reached this humongous vine-covered castle. What was this place? The Shadow looked at me as if she read my mind. "The Castle of Peace. Your family's home. You inherited it."
"Cooool!" Solarius raced off into the castle and immediately, there was a sound like a trigger and gates shut down in front of her. Ok. Maybe the castle wasn't  that peaceful. I wondered if it was cursed or the Shadow was going to trick us. We had no weapons... The shadow read my mind yet AGAIN and frowned. She nodded to a chest hidden in the castle and somehow forced the gates open. She reached into the chest to pull out whatever was in there and suddenly 2 swords, 1 knife, and some strange looking staff were in her hand. I thought Shadows passed through objects. Huh. Maybe I was wrong. The staff was painted with intricate designs. I took it in my hand. It felt cold, yet warm at the same time. I just said some random word like "platypus"! And POOF! A platypus appeared on the floor. "Ok, now what just happened?" "That staff is the Staff of Creation. You say a word, and that appears. Anything can be summoned. But it can only work once a day." Solarius shouted,"I call that!" and I said,"Oh, I called that first in my head!" Then the Shadow yelled'Silence!"
Then, the staff floated out of her shadowy hand and into my paw.

My Journal

"Be quiet, they'll hear us."
"Who is "they"?"
"Shh! Here they come!"
Huh? What? Oh, hello. Now, be quiet. Whisper as low as you can. They're after us.
What's my name you ask? Eclipse.
I'm a Sun wolf. My cousin, Solarius, is a Moon wolf. Now, you might think it is strange that a Sun wolf has a name related to the moon, and vice versa. In my land, the Land of Tori, it isn't strange at all. My people, the Toris, worship the sun and moon greatly. The sun and moon provide all of our power. Without them, no one would live. The Sun God is named Solarius. My cousin was named after him. Solarius's wife(not my cousin, she's 10. I'm 12.) is named Nightstar. Casual for a Moon wolf. Nightstar is evil. Solarius is good. [Stop smirking, Solarius. I don't mean you. You are so annoying.] Evil and good have to be balanced, or else all will cease to live.
Except the Shadows.
They are a great bunch of evil shadows, and they only worship one person. Nightstar. They are unsold, pass through all objects except Tori brick, made from pure shadow. They tend to retract around Sun wolves.
I like being a Sun wolf. Kinda.
Ok, so my journey started when I was a young pup, age of 2. My father died from an unknown reason. My mother, Katie, had searched for him ever since. No luck.
Anyway, the Shadows were chasing us, closing in on our tails. Solarius and I were running through the forest, having no idea where we were. Who cares? I lost almost everyone I have. Except Solarius. She isn't much. [Ow, that's my leg!] Oh, forgot to mention. Solarius is a moon wolf, as I mentioned before. She's descended from Nightstar. Apparently my parents raised her and she eventually became good. She knows tons about the history of Toris. I always get jealous when I think of that. Why couldn't I get something useful for survival? Just before the Shadows pounced on us, we ran into a pile of wooden planks. You don't want a short description? I'll make it even shorter. It hurt. The pile of wood was hollowed out, and the top was covered with grass, leaves, and all sorts of yucky stuff. (Excuse me, I'm a carnivore. Mice fill your belly up well.) Inside, a Shadow was sitting on the wood(I don't think they can sit, as they don't know how to control themselves.).
"Hello, my darlings. You came just in time."
